Mary Virginia Cakes is owned and operated by Mary Virginia Gage. I have been decorating cakes since 1989 and I love nothing more than customizing each wedding or special occasion cake to make it extraordinary. I took my first flower class in 2001 from internationally renowned Chef Nicholas Lodge and I was hooked. I want to become something more than just a "cake decorator" and, as I have learned more about my trade, I have discovered that the possibilities in sugar are endless.
I look at each cake as a piece of art, and no two cakes are alike. Each one is created to have its own originality and sense of character, and is designed exclusively for you.
With my husband Jeff's engineering abilities, and my baking and decorating ability, our goal is to create works of art that are a combination of exceptional taste and exquisite artistry.
I am a proud partner with Icing Smiles, donating cakes to children with critical illnesses and their siblings. As a member of ICES, International Cake Exploration Society, I plan to continue going to pastry and sugar art shows so I am sure to keep up with all the latest techniques and trends.
I also love decorating cookies and petit fours, making truffles and bonbons. I customize everything for your event, whether it is a baby shower, wedding shower, birthday, or wedding.
